Financial & Corporate Relations (FCR) has presented its fifth annual award for the best student in corporate public relations at the University of Notre Dame to Laverne Sukkar.

FCR managing director, Anthony Tregoning, presented Laverne with the award and a $500 cash prize at a ceremony at Notre Dame’s Sydney campus last month. Laverne completed her bachelor of Marketing and Public Relations degree in December 2016 and is currently a marketing assistant at Allara Learning.

Laverne said she was “absolutely honoured” to receive the prize, after much hard work and study over the past three years.

“I have been impressed by the way FCR has continually supported new entrants to the industry. The prize is not only a reward for students’ hard work, it is also a motivator for future graduates,” she said.

Laverne also won an award for her studies in international marketing.

FCR has helped train many graduates and has presented the Notre Dame prize for the past five years.

“The media landscape is changing and communication is an integral part of the corporate strategy of every business. An effective marketing communication program can help build the loyalty and trust of customers, employees, investors and other stakeholders,” Mr Tregoning said.

FCR works with clients throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region to help businesses communicate with their stakeholders, including investors, employees and business customers.
